Hello Folks, This week we learn the 2nd half of the melody to "If I Had You." We start with the bridge and I demonstrate the melody and some fills to embellish the melody. Then we do the last A section repeating the melody and intro turnaround leading into the solo section.
Enjoy, Duke

Hey Duke, nothing specific to this song, but just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate your teaching on SJ. I've been a fan since the early 70's, used to see you at the Blue Wall at U Mass. Just a shout out from a transplanted New Englander here in ABQ, NM, finally getting to learn from the master at age 60!
Peter, Most truly worthwhile music doesn't require speed OR flash. Duke
For those of us who are incapable of "speed and flash" it gives hope that we can still make worthwhile music
Thanks
P
Thanks Tom, That philosophy is not used much anymore but is one of the most important lessons in music. Say a lot with as little as possible. Speed, flash and over-used repeated arpeggios have taken the place of substance and melody. That's why I'm here, I'm the anti-shredder! Duke
Beautiful . Good example how less is more . Thanks Duke .
