Duke Robillard Lesson >

Swingin' the Blues > Soloing

Lesson 5 is a double lesson focused on soloing.  Duke gives a general overivew of jazzy blues / swing guitar soloing.  He discusses avoiding the minor penatonic scale on the I chord and playing over the II to V change. Duke also gets into using the "old style" swing-scale pattern and chromatic tones, double stops, solo riffs based on tones of passing chords and playing in second position.

Thanks Duke. You really have opened up an avenue for me. I know this is just the surface but the lessons have informed some of my songs to now be better presented. I gotta practice so, thanks again.
