Hello Folks,
This weeks selection is Easy Baby for all you Magic Sam fans. We do the intro and first verse. It's a great Westside Chicago blues and one of Sam's most popular songs. We have fun with the various little interpretations of rhythmic possibilities here and I explain a bit about Sam's style and where some of the riffs came from.
Then next week we work on the second verse where the the guitar echos the vocal phrases. Lots of fun to be had on this one folks!

Hey Duke! What a great tune! It made me realize I haven't listened to nearly enough Magic Sam! I was mostly just familiar with West Side Soul, but hadn't listened to the Cobra singles. Mostly unbelievably amazing stuff with the occasional thing like "Square Dance Rock" parts 1 and 2. :)
Thanks so much for the lesson. Am I getting the right feel on this? I wish there were some good local blues jams out here in LA. There used to be a good one in Santa Monica, but now the only ones I can find are way out in the boonies, and I just can't stay up that late anymore. ;)

Yeah, Duke, this is cool! One thing I kinda struggle with on this "family" of songs, is the I chord a minor? If you were playing behind what you showed us with a simpler chord, would you play a minor or a major? The IV and V chords are major of course.
