Backstroke > Solo Lesson 1

Hi Friends, This week we work on the solo section for "Backstroke". The concept for this solo is mostly variations on the theme with lots of space in between. I demonstrate the opening solo lick and the show some possibilities for variations in different positions and also add in a few of Albert's classic lines to change it up a bit. I want to see more videos of you playing to the track next week! And remember to leave that space as if the horn lines on the original track are answering you. that space is important!

Enjoy, Duke

Wow Duke..that made my decade. You've been my hero for 25 years. Played for ya once up in Turin NY 10 yrs ago, outdoor thing, we were the band in the tent after you closed the main stage, I looked up and you were standin there, be like you lookin up and T Bone was standin there..ha....Pinetop was also on the bill that day. I transcribed T Bone Boogie off your first album back in the 80's, showed ya, you laughed, said you never played it same way twice, turned me on to Guitar Junior. Thx for taking the time to check out that one take, whaddya got shot at backstroke. This lesson series rocks, thx so much for doin it.

Duke,

Are you using just the flesh of your fingers or any fingernails when you play Albert Collins style ?

Duke,

Great video of you with Albert Collins. Is that Debbie Davies playing as well ? How did you get the Strat to sound like Albert's Tele ?
