Hi Friends, this weeks lesson is working on soloing for T-Bone Shuffle. I demonstrate several licks that make up a chorus of solo plus demonstrate more T-Bone licks that are fundamental to his style. We will also have a backing track to play with soon.

Hello Mr. Duke! I met you at the Bilbao gig with John Nemeth. I just wanted to say it was a great pleasure to get to know you and have the chance to see you and your band live. I must aswell add that your lessons are opening my mind and paving the way to jam along with my friend Cesar in Madrid. As you may have noticed, Cesar it´s the guy right beneath this text and the artist of the album I handed over to you before your show. Remember? Cesar Crespo & The Pinballs´Blues Party!! I hope you like it! Thanks a lot and a big hug from the Basque Country from a blues lover!

Mean Mojo, it would be easiest for me to hear you play on a video. Then perhaps I could give you constructive advise. Duke

Duke...

How do I get that T-Bone Walker feel into my fingers...? I have a lot of frustration here with that. Everything I know how to play is based on a shuffle feel with eighth note triplets with the first two notes tied together. ( 'Nuther words sounding like Trip Let - Trip - let... instead of Trip puh let - Trip puh let... ) I guess that T-bone uses sixteenth note sets in a four beat measure, I get that, but somehow I just can't seem to grasp it. Is there some subtle accentuation trick that I am not getting right...?

Mean Mojo

Duke this another great lesson. In this one solo I hve enogh material to work out [ut my own spin on that I'll surely get a better feel for how to improvise in the style of T-Bone. Especially by woodshedding the licks on a backing track.

I'll have some new licks for this Sunday's Jam Session.

Your lessons are proof that one can do a lot with just a little.

Thanks again man!

Bob
