Blues A Rama

Guitar Slim

Blues A Rama Lesson 2 is Duke Robillard's tribute to Eddie Jones (Guitar Slim). In this lesson, Duke gives you an overview of early electrified New Orleans gospel based blues.  Duke talks about both how to play the style, the key licks in Duke's solo and also how to get the tone. For the Blues A Rama series, we recommend that you are comfortable with the blues pentatonic scales.

that's cause he WAS drunk when he played. Which is also why he died so young unortunately.

Indeed... gives it that slippery, almost drunk feel at times. Love it!

Yes actually true and the open strings mixed with the fretted ones are the key to Slim's sound.

Just amazing lessons Duke. You have been an inspiration for many many years and I thank you. One suggestion. The tab has all the 1st frets notated but if you capo at the 1st they would really be open strings, no? THanks again for all this!
