@Corey....Actually I haven't heard a lot  the original version...;)))

I've heard Savane of Ali Farka Tourè..Do you think in the future, will we have some lesson on african blues too?:)))

Alex Barbera commented on: C C Pill Blues Lesson 3 Jan 24, 2012

@Corey...Grazie!!!!!I found the lyrics on internet!!!!I'll work more on the rythm and the palm muting thing...without the thumbpick it's even easier...I completely changed idea about it and don't know why I haven't done it before...well, I think this is the reason why it's good to take lessons, isn'it?

Could you tell me more about the dynamics? Do you think it's better now than the others video I've uploaded?

And one more thing...I want to thank you Mike and Corey for the technical support (graphic is so much better now) and for the transmission of knowledge...cooperation have to become a must in the future if we want to make this world better...all this competition is actually killing all of us!!!!

If one day you guys are going to come here to Italy in Bologna off course there's some good italian food for you prepared by me and also, expecially for a true Rasta as Corey, some Ingera and Zighny too prepared directly by my beautifull eritrean girlfriend and flatmates!!!!

A presto

Alex

@Corey Hi Corey...Here's my attempt with cc pill blues...I'm just tryin to play very basic and I avoided to use the thumbpick and I'm feelin more and more comfortable with bare fingers now!!! I also sing just to know if it's ok for the dynamics...I couldn't find the lyrics so I'm kind of improvising :)) Any suggestions? :)))

@Corey....Thanks for introducing me to this concept of dynamics because I've never heard of it before!!!! Pretty ignorant about it!!! It's something that really makes the difference and let express more myself..I'm still workin on this tune and I'll upload something very soon but to get some good results, well, The road is long to get to the Jordan!!! :DDDD

20 years!?!?!?! wow...I can see the reason why it sounds so good!!!^_^

I almost always use a thumbpick and I'm starting now to play without nothing but my fingers...It's harder and the sound is different. I can't say I prefer but I'd like to get to the point where I can choose to use it or not just for my decision and not for any kinds of skill gap!!!:DDD

Before I used to play with fingerpicks but I don't like them anymore and I realized that it was more expensive too..I was always changing the strings of my guitar!!!:DD

I'm still working on this tune...only bass and chords.....at the moment the rest for me is science fiction!!! :DDD

Nice to talk with you again Mike!!!^__^

Keep on bluesin'!!

@Corey...Hy corey, thanks again for the feedback. As I was sayin to Mike I still don't feel very comfortable and I have to work a lot with the touch but it's a matter of time, isn't it?...for that second part...My idea was to find a kind of mix between your version and muddy waters version so that I could have as a result something that I can feel more personal instead of totally coverin what others has already done..your version is great, and I love it more when you play it 1 step down, but it's yours...I would like to find a way to put that second part coherently with the rest of the song...like breakin' it and come into it again...A kinf of non sense which have a sense!!I don't know if I explained well myself...

I wish I could sing in Italian!!!You're totally right for many reason..One of this is also that people here could understand more what I want to say!!...I've posted some questions about it in another section of the forum and the problem is that here in Italy nobady, in my opinion and others too, still have had some good results doin blues in italian...it seems that the melody and our language doesn't fit well together while in reggae you can listen really good italian reggae..i wonder if you could help me doing this...I think it's a problem of finding the key!!!

Take a look at this...this great musician is Fabrizio De Andre. he's maybe the greatest songwriter we had...His lyrics were so deep and ispiring...so he was able to write song...take a look what he does with the blues...In italian it doesn't sound well

Hy Mike and Bruno...thank you so much for your kind words!!! You're too generous,my blues mates!!! To be honest I've been working on this tune (corey's version) for some months but I can truly say that, thanks to Corey's lessons, only now I can see some kind of results...I've so much road to walk to get to the Jordan ;)))...when I play  I still don't feel comfortable, the touch with the string is really basic....You look at Corey, he touches the strings and make that vibrato sound which for me is honestly impossible at the moment...Also the pronunciation is really italian :DDD...Well I come from Sardinia, a beautifull island in the center of the mediterranean sea, and we like to have low profile....Mike, do you have an acoustic guitar? :))

hy Corey,

thank you for the critics. :) I'll try to slow down that b section. I need to be more patient, I suppose!!! :))) Another problem I have is that in general I tend to speed up when I play..

I've uploaded another video in Catfish blues lesson 4. Could you please give a look also at it when you have some time? and by the way, I've seen the picture of your trip in Mali...they're great. I love the one where you're eating with that beautifull malian woman!!!!! I Hope to see next time some new pictures from Addis Abeba, Lalibela and Asmara!!!! ;)))))

Bless
