@Corey....Yeah I know what you mean..It's true..It's noisy...I'd like to learn The way you mute the strings with your wrist..It's very original..I've never seen something like this before but I like the sound...If one day you will come to play in Sardinia for a blues festival maybe you could show me how to do it :)

Mike I think the interview went good....Now I'm waiting for the response of the speaker of the radio....let's see what happens..I think I'm starting to have an idea of how to make the brushes...the most challenging thing for me now is this total review of how to play with my right hand...A revolution has started!!! :D

@corey....my last attempt with high fever blues.sorry for the ending.I know it's wrong..Forget about it..plus there is still one vibrato..It's stronger than me! :D....and just a little favour I'd like to ask you if it's possible...the second part of the video is about catfish blues..any more suggestions?...There's also in this tuning some interesting work about brushes...I'm startin to mute the strings the way you had explained us few lessons ago...I'm still in trouble I think...The sound seems to be dirty...I'm revolutionizing the way I'm playin...maybe there's too much meat on fire!!! :D

@Corey....thanks for the comment in HFB lesson 1....I was about to ask exacly what you explain here in the lesson...wonderfull!!!!! :D I'll try to review that thing about avoiding the vibrato....and yes, I noticed already by myself that  missing ring finger on the 6th string....the problem was how to have that full sound on the 4th chord but now it's really clear.

Then a good news for everybody here...Tomorrow I'm going to be interviewed by a speaker of a blues tv programme mainly about sonic Junction....Moreover he will put on the radio 2-3 songs that I recently sent him which are tune learned by you...the idea is...listen the song to see what could be the result...it should be not that bad, taking in consideration the righr proportions!!! :DD Anyway...the tunes are Everybody ought to change, Catfish blues and CC pill blues..plus Preachin Blues (up Jumped the devil) which is one of my favourite....So, hopefully Corey there could be more work and blues nightmares students for you...

p.s. that ring is so nice...did you get it in Africa?

@Corey..thanks for video and explanations on brushes....I've seen something similar by flamenco players :)

I've uploaded a video on the first lesson..Could you take a look at it? :)

@Corey...here's your favourite blues nightmare....:).....I've tried the slowest I could...I'm tryin also to brush the strings in different positions...I've seen that you do this a lot especially with bass notes in Catfish blues, isn't it? :)

@Corey....I'll do it as soon as possible...I don't want to miss my status of your best personal nightmare as a sonic junction user!!! :DD In these days I've been very busy cause I've started a new job and now I'm really focused on it...I've started doing something really slowly and takin my time...When something good comes, I'll post the video..I really like this tune. I've had a first approach on it with your homespun videomethod...Take care!!! :))

@Corey...thanks...I love this tune expecially when you add the sound of the feet that works as a drum behind the melody...:)...I've seen this in a very beautifull video I found on youtube...Have a nice weekend! :)

Corey...thanks!! :) Just a question...when you say that I'm hitting also other strings you mean also when I'm just playin the melody? In general  think it' always my same problem when I'm playin the 2nd string...

If I can ask you an opinion...what do you think about this guy..I think his slide playin is awesome!

Alex Barbera
Alex Barbera commented on: Jack of Diamonds Post 4 Mar 25, 2012

@Corey....I tried the slowest I could...It's the melody line...just to show if  I'm catching the right notes..Is it better now the way I'm holding the slide?..I found that is easier for me to play with the slide oblique instead of straight..I add later the bass....still problems with alternate picking..

Hi Duke, today I've practiced more on your lesson....Here's the new video. I start tryin to reproduce the lick you showed us and after I added my new version of Driftin blues which is a tune that I play a lot by myself...I used the same licks and I sing too, so sorry for pronunciation and voice! :) I'm still in trouble with bending and making that 9th chord sound properly...My sound is still dirty! :)

Alex Barbera commented on: Chicago Blues in E Lesson 1 Mar 20, 2012

Thank you Duke...Most of all it's Corey's merit. We did something really similar in his version of catfish blues. Today I practiced again payin more attention on bending..I'm not very comfortable with it at the moment. Plus I'm not very clean in playin then I decided to cut my nails just to have a more warm sund!!!

I like so much that 9th chord that I become undisciplined...It's only a problem of DNA...I'm latin!!! :DD I'll keep practice on the phrase and hope to see the new lesson soon!!! :)) Ciao!!!!

@Corey...I was telling Mike the same thing :))...Right now It's difficoult for me to catch the slide the way you do...I've never seen it before but I think it's better too...I can hear the difference...I think it's only a matter of practice :)

Alex Barbera
Alex Barbera commented on: Jack of Diamonds Post 3 Mar 19, 2012

@Mike....thanks!!!!! The most challenging thing for me is to make that kind of ending sound live as much as possible...also the vibrato is difficoult and I still have problems in holding the slide as Corey explained in the last lesson!!!! And my resonator guitar is terrible....last week I tried a triolian national guitar....I don't even need to touch the strings...It played almost alone and It had an incredible sustain!!!! Wow!!!!! :)) then I Hope to see your video very soon....

Plus....check your email....we have good news!!! ;)

@Corey.....here's my video...I haven't practiced this tune a lot....I focused my attention more on Catfish and Everybody...Could you take a look at Catfishblues lesson4/Everybody Ought to lesson 4?...I've upload new videos

By the way....The end of this lesson is the best of all!!! ^__^ Legalize it!!! :DDD

@Duke...here's my attemp with Chicago blues 1...I love that chord when you put the 9th..Is this the way do I have to call it..I'm ignorant in music theory!! I don't have an electric guitar...just acoustic...It's my lovely Epiphone EL 00 called Ginevra :DD

Alex Barbera commented on: Everybody Ought To Change Lesson 4 Mar 19, 2012

@Corey....Here's Everybody ought to change....I've also noticed that this tune is quite similar to Stop Breakin Down of Robert Johnson...Then I tried to throw in that song the licks that I learnt from Everybody Ought to....It's not that bad, isn't it? :))
