Walking By Myself > Backing Track

Last week we learned the signature riff in "Hoochie Coochie Man." This week, however, we're returning to the Jimmy Rogers/Walter Horton classic "Walking By Myself" that we had been working on. Here's Rick with the backing track for the song so you can play along. Use a "D" harp to play in the key of "A". Next week we'll return with a performance of "Hoochie Coochie Coochie Man" with lick breakdowns and a backing track to follow.

Topics and/or subjects covered in this lesson:
Blues
Jimmy Rodgers
Key of A
Jerry Portnoy
Big Walter Horton
Rick Russell
Walking by Myself

This seems to me to be a eight-bar blues with two verses (?) of 12-bar blues where the harp solo goes, then back to eight-bar.

Could you please do a bit of discussion of the eight-bar progression?

Thanks.
