You're Going to Need Somebody on Your Bond

V Chord Variation

In this lesson we do a review of how the bass and the melody work together. By this time you should have a clear idea of how they both work together. I also discuss playing the 5 chord with the slide or a chord shape or simply implying it with a note on the slide. I hope that you enjoy learning this song.

@Mike...you are coming along nicely with this.  I would suggest that you vary your slide approach.  That is find where you can slide into the note and vibrate it and then find where it sounds good to just slide into the note without vibrato.  Also try using a lighter touch with both hands...brush the strings with your thumb and use a lighter touch on the slide hand.  It might work better for you to find another guitar and set the action up slightly higher for slide.  Try it...  Thanks.

Hi Corey --- here's where I'm at with the tune.  It's really fun.

I still need to clean things up --- and add in the variations on the V (which are very cool).  Thanks in advance for the thoughts and feedback.

Hi Corey --- I love this tune!!  Thanks for teaching it.  I'm finally starting to get comfortable with the slide.  It's cool because you can really give the notes a vocal / organic quality once it starts to feel natural.

I'll post a video soon, but just wanted to say thanks and let you know how much I'm enjoying it.  All the best.
