Knock Me A Kiss

Rhythm Changes > Knock Me A Kiss

Hello Friends,

I hope all is well with you and you all are staying safe. This week we are working on another great tune in the rhythm changes arena. Knock Me a Kiss was recorded by Louis Jordan and also the Jimmie Lunceford Orchestra on the 1940s and is a perfect example of a jump tune. Great fun "jive" tune that is easy and fun to play. The A sections are all 1/6/2/5 like I got rhythm but the bridge is different. It's starts on Bb then B diminished the the one (F) it repeats again the resolves with a Am7 to D7 and Gm7 to C7. I recommend checking both versions out on youtube. You should learn to sing it also. It's such a fun and easy tune in a low key.

Enjoy!

Duke

Lovely Duke : ) Love Louis Jordan! The 6/9 chord reminded me of this 'Braggin', Dick Hymes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IarSdO49zsc
