Jerusalem Ridge > C and D Section Breakdown

We're re-issuing one of Chris's most popular lessons with re-mastered video and updated loop points. From Chris:

Hello! This week I’ll show you the C and D parts to Jerusalem Ridge. The C part is more like a connector piece between the B part and the D - it is short and doesn’t say much. The D section, however, opens up; the whole tune up to this point has been brooding and minor-y but now the clouds part and we get a big triumphant C major chord. It’s a great moment.

One thing that I didn’t explain fully in the video but that bears mentioning: at the *very* end of the D section where you have the 2 A minor chords followed by the E major, there is an extra beat! Don’t let it throw you off. You will have one measure of 5 and then it goes back to normal 4/4 timing. It’s pretty intuitive if you listen - the easiest way to get it is to not overthink it.

Cheers,

Chris
