Hi Folks,
This week we are starting a new song. It's a classic blues from the 30s called "I Rather Drink Muddy Water." Although it's a relatively well known (due mostly from Lou Rawls 60s version it.) it's not often played with the original chords and melody. We are taking it from my latest CD which incedently, won the Blues Music Award for best acoustic album of 2015 last week in Memphis.
We start as always with the chords and it's a nice progression which has a bit more to it than the usual blues. There's nice use of the 5 augmented here and a cool turnaround. So work on the chord progression and the two different ways to play the chords I demonstrate this week and next we'll work on all the different things you can play on it.
