I Will Always Love You > G, C, D7 and Em Chords

Greetings Lovers of the Guitar! It’s with great pleasure that I present this masterpiece of social music, I Will Always Love You.  It was written by Dolly Parton in the 70’s and became a mega-hit for Whitney Houston in the early 90’s. It seems like the kind of song that everyone can agree on.  In this lesson we’ll go over the G, learn the Em, and review the C, and D chords before launching into this fairly simple progression. This is a great example of a song that can absorb as much emotion as you have to give it. The trick, in my opinion, is to learn the progression well so you don’t have to be thinking about it while you’re singing. Then you’re free to go deep with the lyrics!

So let’s get started, you’ll be amazed at how satisfying this one can be……
