Steady and Alternating Bass

Corey Harris Lesson >

Basics of Fingerpicking > Steady and Alternating Bass

In this lesson we identify the two different types of fingerpicking: the steady bass and and the alternating bass. I give you three examples and then slow them down so that you can better hear what is going on. When learning any song, take your time learning the bass before you apply yourself to learning the melody. We also discuss the importance of pressing on the strings, rather than picking them to get the best sound on the guitar.

Enjoy.
