Mood Indigo > Solo Ideas

Hello Friends, This week is our final Mood Indigo lesson. We go over many different ideas for soloing on it. I demonstrate quite a few different riffs that work over the changes and I am looking forward to seeing what you all develop on your own after trying out some different ideas. The idea is to incorporate some of these lines into your own solo and learn to really improvise. I would love to see more of you send in videos of you playing along with the track.

Enjoy!

Duke

Hi Duke,

Here's my take on Mood Indigo. I built a backing track in iReal (Piano, bass, drums) and then added the rhythm guitar. The track I found used a slightly different 1st A where the ii-V subs a Eb-7 to Eb7#5. It sounds cool so I went with it and modified the chord melody to match it. I tried to compose a solo of my own but dipped into many of the lines you've showed us in other lessons.

Great lesson, Thanks, Marty
