Hey Sonic Junction -
Here we are with the seventh, and final verse of this “Lockdown Shuffle”. In watching this lesson, I realize I must’ve changed the name at some point, but the name’s of very little consequence - the value’s in the content. The aim of this series has been to expand your musical vocabulary by providing you with some new conceptual and sonic options. This last verse starts out by referring back a couple weeks, and contrasting the 2/5 split, partial 7th chord, with a full, fat chord on the bottom three holes. On the IV chord, we stay with that 2/5 split, but we break it up - first, by employing an almost rushed rhythmic feel to create excitement and anticipation, and next with a little syncopated, side-to-side tongue trill. After that, we’re back on the I with a slightly modified version of the first four bars, before taking it home. I hope this series has been enjoyable for you and you’ve picked up some new knowledge that you’ll be able to utilize.
Stay safe and I’ll see you after awhile, right back here on Sonic Junction.
