Hi Friends, This weeks lesson covers the solo section of "Take a Little Walk with Me" which is actually a very cool background part that accompanies Otis Spann's solo on the original recording. It's so cool in fact I've used it in a trio setting as an intro to a solo. It's just a very cool harmonized rhythm part. I show how Robert JR does it then I show you things I have added to it to make it even more harmonically interesting. It's a very fun and cool sounding two note riff that is sort of a harmonized basic blues rhythm. I think you'll have fun with this one.
Enjoy! Duke

Happy Spring Duke, here's my video
I really liked the intro to this one. I plan to use it in other songs :-D
Hi Peter, The idea to use the intro for other songs is good. That's the type of thing you can add to any blues it's appropriate for. You should try playing with a metronome for timing. It's important that you play the intro at the same speed as the rest of the song and work on being consistant with time. I also noticed you played the second half of the intro only half the lenght it should be. try working on that and playing it along with me. good work! Duke
