Lost Mind > Soloing

Hi Friends,

I'm excited about hearing you all play "Lost Mind" and posting your videos after this lesson! This week I play along with the track and demonstrate how the melody should sound and also I improvise a solo where the sax is on the original record, demonstrating how you could approach it before playing the last A section and the tag. The total form here is a chorus and a half coming back to the bridge (solo) after playing the first full chorus. Let's hear some versions on posts please.

Hey, great videos on this one! Cool stuff, Charlie and Marty!

Hope you enjoy my take on this, Duke! I'm using my Harmony Statotone that I'm guessing is about a 1960. Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Duke,

Here's my run at Lost Mind. For fun I added a rhythm guitar track with a Leslie effect and another guitar track running through an EH C9 pedal for an organ effect to your great backing track. I did the solo with a Leslie since it sounded pretty cool. I used the Jazzmaster in the Rhythm circuit mode for the rest of the parts. Fantastic lesson. Thanks for any feedback.

Here's my cut. Ideally I would have waited a month to give it some polish, but this is the raw first attempt. Pretty sloppy in places, but hopefully the ideas are in the zone. I could hear (but not play) how Kenny Burrell might approach it in places. Thanks as always for the inspiration and instruction Duke!
