Now that you have the technical basics, it's time to let the fingers dance. There is one variation that I call the Mance Lipscomb 'single-pulse' style. it's different from the double thumbing Piedmont style, but close enough so that it can be used instead, if you wish. If you want to sing the tune, so much the better. No matter how you do it your right thumb will carry you through.
