Thanks Duke !

Duke,

I would like to cover your song Fishnet at my local blues jam. I believe I have most of the lyrics just from listening to it. Would it be possible to view the lyrics somehow ? I searched the net but couldn’t find them.

Thanks !

Duke,

i love the lessons. Can you tell me something about the Strat you are using in this lesson? What make or year ? Any special pickups ? Thx

I also would love to see a lesson for a jump blues such as T Bone Boogie ! Great tune. Thx

Great tune ! Just curious why you changed the key to G. The Kenny Burrell, T Bone Walker and Nat King Cole version are in the key of Eb.

Duke,

Are you using just the flesh of your fingers or any fingernails when you play Albert Collins style ?

Duke,

Great video of you with Albert Collins. Is that Debbie Davies playing as well ? How did you get the Strat to sound like Albert's Tele ?

Duke,

I love your CD Wobble Walkin ---Any plans to release a book with transcriptions of those songs ? I would love to keep learning the chords and lines that you use on that CD. If not, then please continue to highlight those concepts on sonic junction !

All the best,

Duke,

Exactly !  Wes Montgomery style octaves ---can be useful as you know in the blues for variation

Duke,

There is another version of Nat King Cole's Route 66 with a different guitar solo. Here is the link

http://youtu.be/2FOuv_7DeL0

Can you shed any light as to why it was redone and who is playing the solo ? In general the sound is a bit cleaner and the solo starts off "prettier" without as much bop influence.

Thanks---I loved this lesson !!!

That is most likely a later version with Irving Ashby playing guitar. In those days it was common for an artist to re-record tunes to update them several years later if they were hits. duke

Duke,

I really love these lessons. One thing I would like to work on is incorporating the one six two five turnaround in a jazz/blues song such as Route 66. I know the chords that would go with that but would like to work on how to solo over the one six two five parts.

Thanks
