Two for One > Performance and Introduction

Welcome back on Sonic Junction for a new Chromatic piece called “Two For One”, where I will be tackling the split octave technique on the chromatic harmonica this time. You can use either a 12-hole or 16-hole chromatic in the key of C for this song in the key of D, as we are playing in 3rd position. Inspired by west coast harmonica greats George Smith, Rod Piazza, and William Clarke. Check out this big resonating sound, grab your chromatics, and see you next week!

Hi Kosta !! thank you very much... I like when you comment my stuff !! and Yes , there so much going on when I play , I move to count the beat ,and try to know where I am ... and it s new to me !!  it s very hard to stay calm ... sometimes when the emotion "kicks in" because i like what I do ... it s really hard to only stay focus on what needed to do ... but I think the guys like Rick , Dennis , and Jerry are so much into it , I mean they re Professional !! and to me to get there ... I ll have to live till 100 years !! loll ... and play with a band because I don t ,and Jamming ,that I just began to try !! anyway Kosta , when you write sometime about what I do , I really can relate ... and you give "drive " to do more !! thank s again and have a good day !! André

Thank you man, it's so plesant to hear. And inspiring too) Soon I hope to make some lesson and video and join the students. At now here in Belarus many meanest things going on and it takes nerves and thoughts. But music does cure.

By the way I can advise you as from my own experianse (I'm not proffesional yet but maybe some day..) that moving (rocking) when you play can be fixed by playing with microfone (vocal) stand or when you sitting on something. It helped  me not to rock and move very much.
Maybe Dennis can give some precious advice how to move on stage and how to deal with it.

I thinkmoving is GOOD to do while playing, as long as you are moving with the beat and the groove. It helps me connect to the groove more while I play. What is not good is to stomp your feet or move your hands to the groove or the beat, that is a bad habit and distrcating to most players. Moving your body with the groove can really help, once you are relaxed and allow yourself to connect with the groove in a relaxed, dancing type of way. Hope that helps!

Very cool sound! Nice new mic;)  Resently I got a new mic too). I do not play a chromatic, but got to try some day, looking at your succes. And I like you got a thrill when you play. I often can't manage to calm down with this and moving my body more than necessary :(

Yes - very good! Sounds great. Practice with a focus to breathe softer and it will be even better...the only improvements now will be from relaxing more, but I know it is easier said than done : )

VERY good there! The next step for you would be relaxing more, breathing even softer. You are doing very well with this, and the only improvements now will come from relaxing more - rounder tone, more relaxed phrasing, not going out of breath - but this is very good! Thank you for uploading this, nice job.
