Trouble In Mind

Chicago Blues Style Rhythm

Hello Folks,

This week we are working on Trouble in Mind in a Chicago blues style. I demonstrate a new intro then the Chicago style bass line and a few different ways of playing the bass line rhythm. Then I demonstrate leadlines that work with the rhythm and several lines that will work with the vocal as lead lines and some ideas on soloing on this classic blues.

I am looking forward to hearing your version of this tune.

Enjoy!

Duke

Hi Duke -

Here's my version of this one. Just an audio file this time, because I was multi-tracking on my laptop to play the bottom part, top part and sing. I'd love to hear what you think of this one! I feel it shows some real improvement in my technique.

Thanks,

Bruce

Duke - I'm having trouble with the audio upload, so here's a youtube version. (actually, now it appears to be working...)

Hi Bruce, Very good! you have a nice groove on the rhythm. I like your approach on the solo also. A little Chicago and a lot of BB style. Nice, keep it up.Duke

Thanks, Duke! Means a whole lot to me! I'm working on an original blues number for the Sonic Junction open mic at the moment. The lyrics are *very* tounge-in-cheek because I'm just too happy to write a really good blues number! ;-) Thanks again! Bruce
