Stompin' At The Savoy > Chords

Hello Everyone,

Today we are starting a new tune. Its a swing era classic. The Chick Webb and Benny Goodman favorite "Stompin' At The Savoy. A staple of any jazz repertoire it's a fun tune to play. We learn it in it's original key of Db which is a fairly standard jazz key. This has some new twists on a basic swing progression which makes it interesting and fun to learn. As always we learn the chords and rhythm first. Get the progression down folks, we're going to have fun with this one.

Enjoy!

Duke

The computer I am using is a Samsung laptop.  I don't have the chord diagram or the feature that I can slow it down. I have the slowing down feature still on the harmonica site and I had the slowing down feature on the guitar site for years, but on the new guitar song I don't have it.  On the older guitar songs I can still control them and slow them down, but on the newer songs I cannot slow them down.  When you made the tab change it makes it harder for me and you can't slow it down and it doesn't show the chords separately.  That was a good feature, I am sorry it is gone.

Hi Duke, did you mean a Telecaster wih heavy (flatwounds 12/52) strings? By the way I wish you a very Happy New Year, you're doing a fantastic job  here with your teaching. Will you gave us some tuitions from the Nat King Cole trio? "Sweet Lorraine " is on top of my wish list!!! Did  you try the VA180 H from Vintage 47 Amps, J. Stout seems to like it a lot. I guess it could be my amp of choice

 Take good care , Bernard

Hey Duke! Great song and fun chords to play. I probably should've gone to a Db7 before going to the B section, but other than that, how's this sound?  Thanks, Bruce
