Jump Up > Chords and Rhythm

Hello guitar lovers! I can’t believe we’re here at lesson number ten. Song number seven. The social music song bag is filling up! Here’s another tune that works well when it’s time to entertain young people, a jumping song called…..Jump Up! This is a simple piece and a great chance to review some not-so-simple chords (not at first anyway) C, F, and G. In this lesson we’ll mention the useful concept of “economy of motion” as we look at how close the finger shapes for these chords are to each other. We’ll also go over alternating bass notes and a couple useful bass runs for this song. I think there’s a lot we can pack in to just one lesson but I’d love to hear from you if this pace is working well. One thing that is working well from my vantage point: I’m having fun! I hope you are too….

Dan
