T-Bone Walker Slow Blues > A Section Solo

Hi Everyone,

This week we are starting on the solo section for "I'm Still In Love With You" This week's lesson will be to learn the first A section of my composed solo. It is a melodic and simple solo that should not be too difficult if you have followed and learned any of my swing lessons. I divided it into two lessons because it is a bit different progression wise. It's intended to be a jumping off point for your own soloing so let's see what you can come up with.

Enjoy!

Duke

Heres my pass at your solo, then one of my own, then the changes and back to your solo...

That was great Charlie! Really good execution and your rhythm was right in the pocket. I love the way you played that whole tone fast lick. I may have to learn it your way! Duke

Hello all, this was useful to me, so I hope it is useful to someone else...

I recorded myself playing the rhythm with Duke playing the solo.  This helps me understand the solo because I can hear how it interacts with the changes underneath it.

Hope I got the rhythm right, and enjoy

Hi Peter, You got it exactly right and what you said was very true. It does help to play the rhythm with it. In fact, thanks for pointing that out Peter. I'm really happy some of you are taking the rhythm parts seriously. It's SO important do really understand how it all works and also helps learn to keep good time. Good Job!!! Duke
