Take Me Back > Endings

In this last lesson we review the fingerpicking and the breakdown of the tune in the middle. I also discuss different ways you might want to end the tune. There are many different ways to end the tune...try and come up with your own. As long as it stays true to the form and rhythm of the song it will work. Good luck!

Hi Corey, you recorded this song on the Fish Ain't Bitin' album. What chord did you play just before the bridge? I mean that fast break just before playing the A7 part?

@Corey I think It's weaker also when I go to G...It's difficoult there to combine melody and bass...I'm still workin on brushes....thanks for feedback :))

@Mike...it is good how you are taking it slow.  I can hear everything clearly and the bass is sounding good.  I would suggest listening to the song a few more times because it seems that at the end of the cycle (on the G chord) you hold the beat a little too long and then correct yourself.  It sounds like you know the form but are not quite sure how to start from the top....  I do like how you are bending that string.  Nice feel, good work.  Thanks.

@Alex...you sound good!  The only thing that I would suggest is to concentrate more on your thumb as it seems stonger in some areas and a little weaker in others.  This is definitely the case during the walkdown section in the middle....  We are looking for a steady thumb/bass that will be the foundation to lay everything on top of it, like a house.  Try just playing the bass by itself for a while and then add the melody.  I think that your tempo and rhythm are good and the variations you put in work well witht the song.  Thanks for posting.

@Mike....grazie!! :)) I think I'm still a little bit dirty especially on the bass but I'm satisfied cause I can see I'm improving :))..You sound good to...I like that bending on the second string when you are in G :))) really bluesy!! :))

@Alex .. you sound great as usual!!  Love that ending!!

@Corey .. here's where I am.  I still got some work to do to make it smooth ... and add in the B section.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks!

@Corey....Here's my last attempt. I think the alternate picking with the thumb is not so bad but the wrist, when I brush the string, is still a little bit tied :)..I've tried to throw in very little variations :))
