In this lesson I review how to play the melody on the bottom string, as well as how to hold the slide. I also slow down the bridge so that you can better hear what is going on. Watch the tempo as you learn. I think it is best to learn a song slow in order to catch all the nuances and then speed it up to the proper tempo once you've got it. Remember not to play too fast! Find the tempo that feels good and work with that. Peace.

@Alex...yes when you playing the melody I can hear that second string.  Try tilting your slide a little bit so that it only touches the string that you are picking.  Thanks for posting the video...I think that he sounds just like Mississippi Fred Mcdowell.  He is copying Fred Mcdowell's version of"Someday Baby."  Check Fred Mcdowell's original verison on youtube.  Good luck with the music.

Hi Alex .. I fixed your YouTube video issue.  We need just the plain link for it to work.  YouTube sometimes has some extra items in the URL that contain more information.  We can recognize and strip this out in a future release.

Thanks for highlighting it!

Corey...thanks!! :) Just a question...when you say that I'm hitting also other strings you mean also when I'm just playin the melody? In general  think it' always my same problem when I'm playin the 2nd string...

If I can ask you an opinion...what do you think about this guy..I think his slide playin is awesome!

@Alex...thanks for posting video.  I think you should try changing how you hold the neck so that your thumb is behind it and not gripping it.  Also keep working on isolating the strings so that when you slide on a string you only hear that string and not the others.  This just takes practice over time.  Just keep working on it slowly and then bring it up to speed when you have worked out the rough spots.

@Corey....I tried the slowest I could...It's the melody line...just to show if  I'm catching the right notes..Is it better now the way I'm holding the slide?..I found that is easier for me to play with the slide oblique instead of straight..I add later the bass....still problems with alternate picking..
